MY STORY

IT WAS SEPTEMBER 2008 WHEN I REALISED MY DREAM OF BECOMING ONE OF THE BEST GOLFERS IN THE WORLD WAS OVER…

Zach Gould on golf club as a young boy.

I’ll never forget the day I was taken to the local golf club. I played my first round with a borrowed set of clubs that were far too big for me, and played 18 holes.

I shot 107. In disbelief, my playing partners went into the pro shop to share what they had witnessed. The club kindly responded by saying ‘you can come and play here for free anytime’.

That was the day my life changed forever. I’ve been addicted to the game since.

THE DREAM BEGAN AGED 7…

MY GOLF JOURNEY

From that day, I spent every spare minute at the golf course.

It wasn’t long until I was playing and winning golf tournaments and I was soon able to represent my home country, Wales at all levels.

I played for Great Britain & Ireland and was a member of the Walker Cup squad.

Also, a favourite memory of mine was representing Europe in the Junior Ryder Cup and Sir Michael Bonallack trophy alongside the greatest players we watch today.

I won numerous individual titles both nationally and internationally and was tipped for major success.

THE TURNING POINT

IN 2008, AFTER A MAJOR GROWTH SPURT AND POOR QUALITY COACHING, I MADE THE DECISION TO PURSUE A NEW PATH.

THATS WHEN THE NEXT CHAPTER BEGAN.

TIME TO CHANGE THE GAME

Fast forward 10 years, after a tonne of studying, research and determination, I was awarded a Doctorate in Strength and Conditioning for Golf.

Quite frankly, worlds away from where I ever thought I would end up.

But exactly where I was meant to be.

After my playing career ended, I was committed (some may say obsessed) to helping golfers improve their on-course performance through strength and fitness.

My vision has always been to enable golfers globally to access world class golf specific S&C coaching .

Oh did I mention I’ve played Augusta…

Zach Gould with Augusta.

TRAIN.

PLAY.

WIN.

I’ve supported over 10,000 golfers to date.

Golfers ranging from European tour winners to the every day golf-for-fun golfer. Both equally enjoyable.

For me, it’s all about the journey, seeing golfers transform their ability and confidence on the course through fitness is quite the privilege.

My coaching philosophy is FITTER, FASTER, FURTHER.

BECOMING

DR.GOLF

Zach Gould graduating with a Doctorate in Strength and Conditioning for Golf

In recent years, the likes of Tigers Woods, Rory Mcillroy, Bryson DeChambeau and many others have transformed the way in which golfers view the connection between fitness and golf.

However, when I finished competing back in 2008, the fitness element of golf performance was seen as more of nice-to-have than a need-to-have. Which is scary to think about.

So, I went on a mission to explore and understand the best training methods for golfers to improve golf performance and reduce the risk of injury.

I wanted to be a world leader, which is what lead me to embarking on my PhD journey.

After being awarded my Doctorate in Strength and Conditioning for Golf, my vision was to enable golfers globally, to easily access world-class golf specific S&C coaching.

And that’s how I became known as golf expert, Dr. Golf.
